Rag Picker- Name called to someone who was not well dressed.

Red Light- An outdoor game. The leader faced in the opposite direction of the players and chanted, "1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10- Red light!" During the count, the players tried to run past the leader before the words, "Red light" were yelled. The player who advanced to the leader's position first, became the next leader.

Ring Around The Roses- A circle, singing game. This was one version played in the Seventh Ward. "Ring around the rosies. Pocket full of toesies. Upstairs, downstairs, one, two, three."

Robbing Peter to Pay Paul- Usually said in reference to paying bills. Sometimes said when there was not enough food to go around the cook took some of one person's portion to give to another.
